This week, I want to talk about worship. If you get a chance, post some comments on what worship is and how you express worship. I'd love to have a discussion on this!
July 15 is the Bible study from Maymont. Hopefully, you will have time to check this out!
Love,
Amanda

Worship mean "have faith and pray!" Sorry, just wanted an excuse to throw that in. Actually, to me, worship is a response to God's love for me. It's not just sitting in church and participating in a service, although that's part of it. At a concert of his I went to once, Michael W. Smith once described it as a lifestyle choice. It's how you live your life in response to God and his love. It requires a bit of self examination, as well. How do you occupy your time? Is what you are doing glorifying God? If not, what can you do different?
Anyways, just some things to think about.
MJFC, that's an awesome explanation of worship. It is a lifestyle, not just something we do.
I think we also need to understand that worship doesn't have to be done in a particular place at a particular time or in a particular structure. One of my spirituality professors once told of a student who fell asleep when he prayed. My professor said, "what better way to fall asleep?" We worship God when we spend time in silence, listening for God, when we sing, when we celebrate when we exercise.... there all kinds of worship.
I like what Mike said about glorifying God and asking ourselves if what we are doing is glorifying. I know I could spend more time in prayer than I do now. I could also relax in silence instead of having something going on around me at all times like tv or radio or reading (though none of those things are "bad", I could really use some silent times).
Thoughts from you?
